my creative space this week has been varied, using different textured yarns...
rugged jute, my favourite..
gorgeous cottons..
and dainty, shimmery thread...
from dainty to robust!
I'm waiting to find a nice big hook to start working with this rope, I'll keep you posted on that, can't wait!
more creative space over here...
Lovely natural colours love the scarf and am very intrigued about that rope.
ReplyDeleteYou have an amazing style and your crochet work is just so beautiful. I'm also very intrigued with what you are going to make with the rope. I was just knitting with 5 ply jute last night and I thought that was tough. :)
ReplyDeleteLove all your pieces and textures. Like everyone I will be interested to see what you do with the rope.
ReplyDeleteYou're absolutely right on the money - the textures are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMel I love the natural colours you use in your work. The jute coasters are look beautiful. I look forward to seeing what you create with the rope. x
ReplyDeleteOh I can't wait to see what you with that rope....I was loving seeing your works of art with your pretties!!
ReplyDeleteMel I absolutely love your choice of yarn here....the textures are amazing!!
ReplyDeleteMay I ask where you sourced the rope? I have been wanting to attempt a crochet floor rug with something robust just like that.
Also, how did you find the jute to crochet with? I have tried using a rough hemp twine but found it too tough and awkward to use.
x
Thanks so much everyone! Tammi I find the jute is easier to use if you go up a size in hook, though still tough on the wrist & fingers! I found the rope in a strange little odds & ends store,I'm hoping they have more..
DeleteJust gorgeous, Mel! Love your tags and that jute...my favorite, too.
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous Mel. I especially love the fuzzy cosies! x
ReplyDeleteOh, love the rope too. Can't wait to see what you make with it. Hope you can find a hook big enough, or else you might have to make one! A piece of dowel with a notch cut out perhaps? :)
ReplyDeleteYikes, that rope makes my hands ache just looking at it.
ReplyDeleteIt's all looking rustic and gorgeous at yours as usual Ms Mel.
Happy weekend to you and the fam. x
I LOVE this wide range of textures! Can't wait to see what you get up to with that rope!
ReplyDeleteLove the jute, especially with dainty teacups and ethereal aluminium tumblers. Everything is gorgeous, as always.
