texture...

my creative space this week has been varied, using different textured yarns... 
rugged jute, my favourite..
gorgeous cottons..
and dainty, shimmery thread...
from dainty to robust!
I'm waiting to find a nice big hook to start working with this rope, I'll keep you posted on that, can't wait!

more creative space over here...

    You have an amazing style and your crochet work is just so beautiful. I'm also very intrigued with what you are going to make with the rope. I was just knitting with 5 ply jute last night and I thought that was tough. :)

    Mel I absolutely love your choice of yarn here....the textures are amazing!!
    May I ask where you sourced the rope? I have been wanting to attempt a crochet floor rug with something robust just like that.
    Also, how did you find the jute to crochet with? I have tried using a rough hemp twine but found it too tough and awkward to use.

      Thanks so much everyone! Tammi I find the jute is easier to use if you go up a size in hook, though still tough on the wrist & fingers! I found the rope in a strange little odds & ends store,I'm hoping they have more..

    Oh, love the rope too. Can't wait to see what you make with it. Hope you can find a hook big enough, or else you might have to make one! A piece of dowel with a notch cut out perhaps? :)

    i saw someone crocheting with rope, they used their hand as the crochet hook! i've been wanting to give it a go too. looks like you have been having fun with all the different textures!
