my creative space..up cycling

I found these coasters at the op shop this week & could not go past those delicious colours all  pinned together...
I'd recently chopped up an old thrifted table runner & made coasters out of it, but seeing as we never seem to use coasters around here, I've decided to crochet a chain & join them all together as a garland! 
I wish I could show you a picture of it strug up in my living room, but I can't get it all in the shot.  I am completely in LOVE with it!

    I can't believe those were coasters - they are so pretty (all my coasters are just boring cork thingys you put half cold mugs of coffee on??)

    what a great idea! We have an Amazon gift bag - which looks similar in material to the coasters - that I could use to do this. Awesome.

    You found them at the OP SHOP!!!? What was the person who gave them away thinking! I LOVE them.... I would have grabbed them in a flash.

    And the pieces of table runner.... you've given me an idea! I've got an old table cloth much like those pieces put together that I've never used..... hmmmmmm.
