I've been busily making things for the store. I'm trying to work up enough courage to try a market, I'm sure if I have plenty stock I should be fine..I guess..it's a little nerve-racking & stressful trying to build up those stock piles...
loving my new poison apples, though some of these are a little on the 'dark' side, and my mouse pads, which have certainly been a trial have turned out well, thankfully...
for more creative spaces, pop on over to Kootoyoo...
Looking gorgeous. It is always a bit scary putting your things out there for everyone to see while you are standing there but it is so nice to have feedback as well. You should definitely aim for a market if you can get enough things together. They look great. Hope you enjoy the rest of your week. Lou.ReplyDelete
Just wanted to say thank you for the beautiful Meaning of Love Brooch. I arrived back from London last night and your package was in the post box this morning. Beautifully wrapped too!
I have just composed a post for tomorrow.
I have linked to your lovely blog and will put up a link to your shop via MADE IT too.
I am really looking forward to wearing it!
LOVE PEACE enJOY!
BTW Go for it! I think you are right, as long as you have enough stock...a market would be a really adventurous and fun thing to do. Take Courage and Happy Selling ;-D x
The wild things! excellent, and more apples with snow white.ReplyDelete
All my favourites :)
Oh, Mel....If you wake up one morning and all of your stock is missing, don't look at my house...ReplyDelete
I love all your sweet creations. The apples are just too darn cute! I hope you find time for massive stocking, you will need it!ReplyDelete
A market is worth doing just for the social side I think - meeting other crafters, and all those who come just to browse and chat because they like to craft too!ReplyDelete
I LOVE the apples! Beautiful -ReplyDelete
I agree with Jill - it's great fun - Go for it - you'll get a real buzz and I'm sure you'll sell tons!
They look fabulous! Love the WTWTA mouse pad! I wrote a few articles on markets both on my blog and the handmade market blog can email you the links if you want. It's good for finding a new customer/audience base too!ReplyDelete
OMG your poison apples are adorable!!! and I am loving your mousepads tooReplyDelete
I love the colours you are working with there. Just gorgeous! Definitely have a go at a market. I love the feedback and social atmosphere you find at markets. Very rewarding.ReplyDelete
Oh I love that green yarn, lovely! I know exactly how you feel about starting a market. I think its quite normal to feel anxious and nervous, well I did ...and I still do sometimes. I'm still learning alot about the amount of stock needed, presentation etc but I have found other stall holders are very helpful and encouraging. Your work is lovely and people can and will see that, so good-luck.ReplyDelete
loving the Wild things mouse pads.ReplyDelete
You should totally do a market, it's not the scary ( says she who is nervous about her upcoming one)
It's really lovely to meet people face to face and interact.
It's worth the nerves and fear xo
Oh. my. goodness.... things with maps and things with butterflies... LOVELY! Those mouse pads are fabulous. I love the Where The Wild Things are one too! I used to make Where The Wild Things Are masks when I was an art specialist teacher a few years back - they were great!ReplyDelete
I think you'll do amazingly well at a market because your things are so unique - go for it!!
i can imagine it being stressful getting the shop stocked and preparing for a market, it takes so much time and effort to craft handmade items.ReplyDelete
ps. i had to laugh at your comment the other day about your kids being in and out like a yoyo. thankfully these past few days have been nice...still cold but at least the sun is shining.
Beautiful! Especially like the snow white apples.ReplyDelete
Don't chicken out! Your goodies are gorgeous and you must try the markets, you'll have a wonderful time!ReplyDelete
I so love that colour you are working with there! I'm afraid I too think that you should just go for it!! Its just that first step, then you will love it. To get feedback and comments on your work, let alone selling too! Its quite interesting and helpful too to get opinions on colours etc that people would like. Then there is custom orders - that they'll be asking about as well!!ReplyDelete
I would love to tell you to do a market and I think your stuff would sell really well but I have just chickened out at the last minute myself. It sounded like a great idea but now the forms are all due in tomorrow it just seems to huge. Your stuff is looking gorgeous though and I think you'd be a hit at a market.ReplyDelete
I loved the Swedish House post on you!!!ReplyDelete
Your so lovely.
Ooh everything looks lovely, how busy you've been. Love those poison apples!ReplyDelete
Markets are a great way to meet new customers & fellow makers, you should give one a whirl!! I get you with the stock thing though, I"m always stressing about whether I have enough. Love the mouse pads! Super cool. Bet they sell like hotcakes xoReplyDelete

Hey Mel I LOVE the apples! Especially the "dark" ones! I know what you mean about markets ... lots of stock building required. But you'd do well no doubt ;)ReplyDelete
