My Place & Yours : That's Nice, That's Different, That's Unusual...

I'm playing My Place & Yours again this week with Pip & Toni and the topic this week is 'That's nice, that's different, that's unusual', as Kath & Kim would say.  I chose the stangest little shadow box in our kitchen.  We've never understood why it was put there or how you would use it. It's really close to the ground, in a walkway, between the entrance to the kitchen & the doorway to the laundry- it's just odd! I don't get it, but if anyone has some practical ideas for its being there please share them with me, I'd love to hear your thoughts...

and behind...nothing...

  3. ...is it a secret portal to somewhere else and you just need to figure how to get there...try knocking on it 3 times and doing 6 x 360 degree turns and saying some magic words

  4. Could it once have been where the milkman or baker left their delivery? Hope you get an answer here ... isn't this fun ;)

  5. Hmmm, the mysterious hole in the wall. It is weird isn't it? Even the fact you can pull the black bit out? Very strange indeed.

  8. No idea what it is but I have an idea for what it could be...isn't it just the perfect height for a frame for an artwork for a little person.

  10. Yes, I was going to suggest it for an arty space for a little person. They could put their own things in it for themselves. Was there anything in it when you viewed the house to buy? Could it have been used as a laundry hatch once upon a time. Maybe they had to go outside to get into the laundry, as was the case many years ago? Otherwise I'm stumped! :)
