the yarn talks..

I dug out this beautiful Italian cotton I'd found on sale ages ago, felt it, admired it, sat it on the bench until it started to talk..
then it did..
it told me to make another, similar to the peachy one I made last week, this time a little shorter, more fitting as a simple shrug for the shoulders, just right for cool spring evenings..

does yarn talk to you before you have any idea what to do with it?  This is usually why I buy it in the first place, it whispers to me from the shop shelves..

more creating here..

  2. That's gorgeous!

Fabric often speaks to me like that, whispers first then when it sings I create something from it.

  3. Love the gorgeous lacy shrug. Fabric talks to me too. Often I will sit it down and walk around it for a while until it tells me what it will become. x

  6. Ha ha! It's fabric that whispers..or sometimes shouts..to me these days. I have a pile on my table..the newest buys..that I haven't put away because I just want to 'own' it and look at it endlessly first!

  9. Oh that is gorgeous! But no, sadly, yarn doesn't talk to me because I am really not very good at knitting or crocheting. Sometimes it might whisper a vague suggestion to me, but that's about it, LOL.

  11. This is beautiful. It looks so soft and delicate.
Not yarn, but fabric most definitely tells me to buy it/take it home and something will happen.

Thankyou for your comment on my Dear Ruby post. Her mummy and her are both very lucky.
Have a great weekend Mel, dee x

  15. Really beautiful. Gorgeous yarn.
Yarn likes to talk to me and I like it to as well. I ususally end up with excess yarn because I am never sure what I am going to make with it as I buy it.
