I made a skirt!
It's a lovely grey linen, simple, flouncy & exactly the way I pictured it in my head! I left the edge raw, which I love, with a simple elastic waist. Super easy, super comfy, cool in the summer time & nice with some leggings & boots on cooler days, though looking at the picture it seems I may need to find myself a pretty petticoat..
...and then I made two! More creative place here..
Aren't you clever?! Loving your new skirt, and how simple. Char made a few skirts like this (but shorter) and now she has five or six. I think they are addictive. I'm a big fan of skirts, and yes, they are a winner all year round!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great Thursday..enjoy the sunshine xo
Oh I love the grey linen with the raw edge!!!
ReplyDeleteFab idea - I've only made shorter skirts for
the girls so far. Love the idea of boots underneath
for cooler weather - gorgeous!XX
Wow, Mel! They look fantastic. Bravo you. Are you taking orders, by any chance?! J x
ReplyDeleteThey look really great Mel. I've seen that second fabric in the shop and your idea of making it into a skirt is fab, its floral but a bit wintery too having the grey tones. Mmm, like I need another project right now!
ReplyDeleteLoving the unfinished edge. There's something about leaving a little personal detail like that that makes it even more special to wear something handmade.
ReplyDeleteNice job Mel..I love them both, the raw edge on teh linen one is rather striking :)
