..is getting back to reality, back to routine & the busyness of normality. I knew it was coming, we've had six weeks to relax, unwind and prepare for a new school year, but it seems I have been so absorbed in holiday mode that I've left everything to the last minute. I now have only today to get myself into gear. The school books are still in the boot of the car where I dumped them hastily the day I bought them back in December. Today I need to have everything labelled, shop for school lunches & get uniforms ready, which I hope still fit, since I haven't managed the time to buy new ones!
I've made some fresh wooden bag tags for the two little guys, military aircraft was the theme they chose. Apparently this is not an acceptable accessory for the big grade 4 boy. No picture could convince him, star wars, harry potter, indianna jones, whatever he'd like! No, it seems the the big boy is finding his own groove, his own style & taste in things, sigh...
pop on over to Kirsty's for more creative spaces...
Oh your wooden tags are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, it happens when they get bigger doesn't it, this whole mind of ones own thing! :)
ReplyDeleteI love those tags, how cool! I'd proudly where it on my bag!
Love the tags, good luck with getting organised!

ReplyDeleteI know how you feel the holidays have ended and I too am not prepared for the return of school.. love the tags.
ReplyDeleteLoven the wooden vintage tags! Goodluck with the labelling and organizing for school.
ReplyDeleteThe tags look great.
ReplyDeleteI'm not organised either Mel. I have to buy the Grade 1 girl school shoes and have left it to today!!!! Good luck with the labeling.
The bags tags are great. I have a grade 5 boy this year, and he is very much finding his own groove.
ReplyDeleteAnd I too and very unorganised, but I also have a job interview booked in for tomorrow as well, so I should stop drooling over blogs and start getting this organised.
Good luck with getting sorted today, it's something I'm really not missing this year. Your Tags are wonderful, it's sad your little man is making his first steps towards independence though. They just grow up too fast.
ReplyDeleteGreat tags. You should do a tutorial as I really would love some for my own bag! I am sure my grown boy wouldn't mind some either. Good luck with the job interview.
ReplyDeleteSigh...
ReplyDeleteThat is all
Mox
WEll I think your tags are wonderful, and I'm sure one day he'll really regret not taking one xo
ReplyDeleteThe military thing is a bit funny, well, when your father is in the Army for my children to wear anything slighty military is a unusual. They are really cool though, but yes, year 4, the attitude & personal taste really starts to kick in. Enjoy the ride, i have twins in year 4 this time, double the opinion, love Posie
ReplyDeleteLove that you prioritised crafting some new bag tags instead of all that other boring school stuff! You really are a CRAFTER!!
ReplyDeleteI remember when our oldest started to have an opinion on style and taste. It was kind of sweet...love the army guys!
ReplyDeleteLove those bag tags, Mel! My big guy is also tough to craft for, though he's always keen to make things for himself...they do grow up quickly, don't they?
ReplyDeleteDon't you hate it when you can no longer sway there likes, with my daughter it has been since she was 2 but my son lasted a bit longer but at 10 I have no hope
ReplyDeleteLove the bag tags! Hooray for upcycling.
ReplyDeleteThey are cool bag tags:) I hope that all the school preparations went well today I'd much rather craft than label all those books too;) xo
ReplyDeleteMy boy would love those. What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteYes great idea and look so good!
ReplyDeleteThose are very cool..And although it may not be the greatest feeling atleast you know the denial is a healthy part of him finding himself....All thanks to a wonderful momma...
ReplyDeletehope it all went well.
ReplyDeleteHa! Glad I'm not the only one left it all to the last minute!! I like the tags too!!
ReplyDeleteI get you on the living with groove-finding anklebiters. In the last half year or so, I entirely gave up. You should see the smallest's clothing ensembles these days. I am startled and delighted that I couldn’t care less!
ReplyDeleteI nominated you for the Stylish Blogger Award, Mel---details on my latest post. :)
