alice arrives...

I love Alice in Wonderland.  For ages I've been on the lookout for original Alice books, the pictures are so much sweeter than most versions & finally I found one with limited scribble on it's pages...

so now we have some sweet alice goodies new in store...

Hubby's preparing a few dishes for the freezer to pull out on those busier days..

I was so excited to see some of my work featured on the Madeit newsletter yesterday.  Sooo excited, I actually squealed & then squealed again as all the sales popped up in my inbox.  So, I've been busily packaging ready for the post first thing this morning...

...is a little limited today with workmen coming in & out installing our new heating unit - YAY!! So, I've perched myself at my cabinet (come workbench) to rummage through tins, keeping out of the way & keeping my fingers warm, making trims & things...

How cute is this! It's been a while since I've been out in the shed re-vamping old pieces.  Now, the sun is shining & the sander is calling to me...happy days, Yay!

it's been a busy week at our house with hubby interstate, birthday parties galore & all the usual running around.  It was nice to have the weekend arrive, to head out for breaky Saturday morning, off to vote at school, another party, and a movie night on the couch...

The weather was stunning yesterday. So lovely to open up all the doors & windows, to have the sun shinning down on our skin, thawing us out...

and today I'm taking it easy (once the shoppings done) we plan to head outside & enjoy what's left of this winter warmth...

in the mood for spring...

So, we didn't spend too much time hibernating, turns out the sun was shining & we ventured out a little, just a little...

we did the op shop & coffee thing, though the wind was blowing a gale, and I found one of my favourite stories, "The Butterfly".

These sweet butterfly brooches are now available in the shop.

Our heater just isn't cutting it this bitterly cold winter, so I've set myself & the little guy up in the spare room with the portable oil heater & we're settling in for a day of crochet on my favourite couch, some block building, puzzles & some warm tasty treats...

it's nice to finally make time to get back to that blanket...

I'm so excited about these snow white brooches, ' The Poison Apple'.  They've been so well received it's quite overwhelming.  I love that they are all fanciful and sweet with a bit of a whimsical dark side...

my 8yr old thinks they are a little scary, but then he's never been a snow white fan...

at my house...

After a cold weekend completely indoors, the sun is shining, the boys are off to school, hubby's off to work & it's just me & the little guy.  I'm feeling like these days at home with him are suddenly, very quickly coming to an end.  Okay, so I still have another year & a bit, I needn't be so dramatic, but in the scheme of things, of 9 years at home with children, it's nearly over...

So, I'm going to enjoy these sweet moments, where it's just the two of us.  When he runs up from behind me & kisses my back, when he hugs my legs & tells me he loves me as I mop up his spills, when he invites me to tea or a cuddle on the couch, when he tells me my pyjamas look beautiful, that I make a yummy dinner, and my favourite "how about we go get a coffee & go to the op shop", love it!  So, at my house, I'm enjoying treasured moments...

I found these lovely satin crochet cottons still in their wrapping at the oppy yesterday, never ceases to amaze me what people give away!  So, I plan to get a few sweet things together for teachers and neighbours for christmas time...

 

I've never used this before, it feels really lovely to work with.

 & putting this vintage gift wrap to good use, I'm using them in my gift cards...

I found this in the op shop, I wonder what special wedding gift came wrapped in this...I love that it has been so carefully stored for so long, how sentimental it must have been.  It's a bit sad that it has finally been dropped off in a box to the Salvos... 

I don't think this one is quite so old, but it sure is cute!

after a little flutter through the op shop during the week I found these sweet tins to add to my collection...

I also saw the most amazing retro floral chairs this morning, they are currently on a 24hour hold & you betcha I'll be there first thing in the morning to pick them up if the 'holder' changes her mind, I doubt she'd be silly enough, but fingers crossed...

Another present down, I won't show it in it's entirety in case it's spotted by the person who is to receive it.  But I do love it, one of those gifts that would be easily kept & put to use right here at home.  That's usually a good indication of a great gift, I guess.

 

One of my favorite things at Christmas time is Santa riding up the drive on his motor bike Christmas morning with those presents he forgot to leave the night before...

this has been a tradition in my family's street for as long as I can remember & I'm so glad my boys get to enjoy it now too.  Some years he'd turn up on the back of a Ute or an old pick up truck, ringing his bell from miles away, so exciting & special.  Then we'd all get dressed & pop over to the neighbours for a champagne brekky before heading out to our family gatherings.
