It was heavenly to wake up to the sound of pouring rain this morning, knowing that we could snuggle down & didn't have to get up for school or work.
You can't actually see the rain in this shot, but the sound was lovely on the tin roof of our shed...
Of course the boys don't sleep in, too much to do, too little time - even on holidays! They've never been late sleepers, but they did keep themselves very quietly occupied in their rooms until a reasonable hour.
Until it was time for...
an early morning wrestle...
that didn't end in tears....for a change...
and at midday, most of us are still in our jammies...I think that's what I love most about holidays...
And now our preppie has taken off to the movies with Dad all to himself, while the rest of us (still in jammies) have no plans at all! Aaahhh, lazy days...
My kids didn't sleep in..............but I did!!! We have been busy drawing, a photo shoot and a bike ride to the park. Now for some cleaning and possibly baking, if i'm up to having 3 helpers!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the holidays too, the lazy days are just what we all need. I thought it was a busy term this one, it seemed like there was alot on! But that's family life isn't it? Hope you have a great break with your gorgeous boys xo ps Have I ever told you that I really appreciate all your comments & thoughts? Well I do honey, thanks so much x
ReplyDeleteOh I am soooooo jealous! I was out in the rain working on the flower farm at 7am this morning ARGH! I'm glad you had a nice snuggly day though, how much fun :)
ReplyDeleteI get up at 6am.....sooooo over it!! I want to spend the day in my jammies just like you guys!
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect day! Enjoy the change in routine! xo m.
ReplyDeleteI never ever wanted to stay in my jim jams until midday (or beyond) 'til there were kids to ferry to school. Love holidays. Well, the first week, anyway!
ReplyDeletei definitely agree that pyjamas are the best thing about holidays! one more week here til our easter school holidays and then i'll be living in mine for 2 weeks as well - yay! enjoy your relaxed days :)
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful. Just what I need. I hope the rest of your week is as relaxing as today. xo
ReplyDeleteit was heavenly lying in bed listening to the rain. Hubby and I were up before our kids at about 8.40am! In years to come, I promise they get the idea of a sleep in!
ReplyDeleteSounds an ideal way to spend the day. Sounds as though the school break has started down your way. Next week for up here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by, and I hope they both enjoyed the movie! :)
They look like cherubs with their texta's and paper. Great to hear you had a sleep in.
