A Bit of Down Time...

My parents had our boys this weekend.  They hadn't been up to Nan & Pop's since Christmas so needless to say they were very excited & busting to get there with bags packed by Friday night & all in the car ready to go first thing Saturday morning.  Hubby was off to Melbourne for yet another Triathlon, so I was to have the house all to myself for the whole weekend!  I had grand plans of going through the place, cleaning, tidying & sorting while there was no one around to mess it up, until I got home to this on the front door...
and...
then...
I was really having a good laugh at this point, there's more...
and finally...
Very cute, thank you Mr!
So, admittedly, I did tidy up just a little but then I sat down and did a bit of this...
I also had a potter about the shops, went out for coffee & a trip to the market.  I have to say that as nice as it is to have some quiet time to myself, I think it's just a little bit over-rated & lonely.  I missed everyone & our family time...although the screaming & chaos upon their arrival home soon got me to thinking how I might best spend my next opportunity for 'me' time...

  3. I must admit if I had the house to myself when the kids were little I usually got stuck in and cleaned....no-one left me notes!!!! Now days quiet time is spent sewing, reading or having a nap in the very quiet house. You will learn to fill your quiet time I'm sure.
