I do like a little TAKING STOCK post. Time to notice, reflect and appreciate stuff. Here's what's happening in my world this weird and wonderful May..
Making: Crochet shawls, and working on unfinished projects
Cooking: Hearty one pot casseroles full of veg and goodness
Sipping: Wine, maybe a little too often, but enjoying it

A gift for my beautiful mum on Mother's Day.
This was such a joy to make. Well, it was after about my 15th attempt at trying to achieve the perfect triangle angle! I started it a few months ago when I stumbled across this gorgeous Italian cotton on a clearance table, but I got so sick of it not working and threw it in my 'works-in-progress' basket for another day.

Anzac Day looked quite different this year. Not being able to gather with our community at the Cenotaph or to watch the parade march down our main street, or see my dad wearing his father's medals. Instead, we walked to the end of our driveway at dawn with candles and stood in silence to pay our respects and to remember. It's always a very special and emotional day, but this yearmel @ loved handmadehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11089482748571082995noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322042642405470297.post-23067360421857116462020-04-11T17:38:00.000+10:002020-04-23T16:41:08.872+10:00Easter Crafting..
Keeping it super simple with some basic Easter craft this weekend. She's loving it, craving it. Everything Easter! Well, Easter bunny and egg related at least.
Between backyard camping and toasting marshmallows at the fire pit, there's a lot of time for daily colouring in and chopping up egg cartons and beer boxes. Quick, easy, thrifty fun!

She's been glued to my side this last week. Constantly chatting, constantly needing me, constantly telling me how much she loves me and writing sweet notes of affection. It's lovely, it is. And I don't want this to come across badly, but my god, it is exhausting! Being her one and only, all day, every day. Easter crafting has begun, and we made bunny ears! A quick as a wink project all before 9am, and all you need is a beer box (or other cardboard scraps), some wool and a bit of tape.
I'm completely unprepared for craft at home. I didn't make a single trip to the shops to stock up on necessities before this all began. So we're just making use of what we have lying around...mel @ loved handmadehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11089482748571082995noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322042642405470297.post-78603707185027031652020-04-05T15:17:00.000+10:002020-04-23T17:01:23.118+10:00A Blog Revival..
Three years! It's been three years since I posted here last. All it took was a longtime blogging mate Kooandyoo to put a shout out on Instagram for a reunion tour, and here I am! Gosh I've missed those friendly chats, the regular catch ups, getting inspired by people's craft and feeling connected. Nothing like a worldwide pandemic to bring us back together, hey.

My first project of the season is off the hook and ready to wear! The perfect shade of grey too, so it'll be well worn over the coming winter months, I know.
I absolutely loved making this cowl. It's big and chunky and quick to whip up, my most favourite kind of project. Well it's a brand new year and a brand new week!
It's been quite some time since I've posted anything here on my dear old blog. This place I used to spend so much time, I miss it that's for sure. Now that my baby has started kinder (!!) I might find time to be here a little more often. Here's hoping!

Spring is only a day away, and I'm itching to get so many things done around here. My head is spinning with all the 'to do's' on my list, its almost becoming too overwhelming and I fear I just won't get to any of it. So its time to take stock and clear my head, thanks to Pip's trusty list..

A winter walk, just us three. We had two birthdays in the month of July, and both nights were freezing cold, raining and full of cloud. Just like that, we're more than half way through winter!
I've been trying super hard to change my tune this year, to embrace this bitterly cold season. To be honest, it's the clothing that makes it easier for me to bare. I love winter fashion, mixing up my layers, a snugly scarf, finding the perfect pair of Uggs to wear both at home and out in public, if mel @ loved handmadehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11089482748571082995noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322042642405470297.post-69364271143720151972016-07-12T10:39:00.000+10:002016-07-12T10:40:32.294+10:00The middle guy is 12..

Its our little tradition to talk about their birth stories on their birthday, and this one was something quite magically surreal. I'm sure all the angels were smiling down upon us this night, because his birth was something of a dream.

Last night, just before dinner time, four out of the six of us went to the beach to soak in some pastel wintery skies.
The colours were so soft and whimsical, the air fresh, and barely a breeze was blowing. We wandered the rocks, admired brave surfers dashing past us, zipping their wetsuits as they ran, busting out of themselves to hit those waves.

One day last week I had one of those parenting moments that keeps playing on through your mind. The fact that I keep thinking about it makes me question my judgement. You know, when you wonder why you did what you did.
Is it because she is my fourth child and I've seen it all before?
Is it because I know her and what she can handle?
Is it because sometimes they need to be on mel @ loved handmadehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11089482748571082995noreply@blogger.com2
